Computer Lab

Computers in computer labs are typically arranged either in rows, so that every workstation has a similar view of one end of the room to facilitate lecturing or presentations, or in clusters, to facilitate small group work. Technology plays a major role in twenty-first century education. The new model of integrating technology into the curriculum means that computers are on demand throughout the school day. The computer lab serves as the center for teaching computer use to whole classes, usually by a specialist computer teacher. Classroom teachers also use the lab with their classes for research, or for creating technology-based projects.

Science Lab

Science lab equipment allows students to interact directly with the data gathered. They get a first-hand learning experience by performing various experiments on their own. Students are made to use the models and understand different scientific theories and concepts. The School has well equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Students are encouraged to use these laboratories to learn through experiments.
Schools shape the world of tomorrow. Today’s students will be the technicians, engineers, epidemiologists and scientists of the future. And whilst teachers play a fundamental part in developing these roles, supporting and guiding students along their journey, the educational environment is crucial to the complete learning experience.
Our science labs allow students to gain hands-on experience of what they learn in the classroom. Throughout the course of every unit, we ensure students get an opportunity for practical work in the lab in all three sciences, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Save Soil

The soil is the great connector of lives, the source and destination of all. It is the healer and restorer and resurrector, by which diseases passes into health, age into youth and death into life. Without proper care for it, we can have no life.

So save soil, a global movement envisioned by Sadhguru, seeks to bring about a concerted, conscious response to impending soil extinction.

The Volunteers encouraged all the students of the school to write the letter to prime minister urging him to take necessary steps and support the movement. At the end of the seminar the volunteers played the ‘Save Soil’ anthem.

Books are uniquely portable magic carriers attached to our feelings. MCES is committed to carry these emotions with the books and making them grow older. We trigger the students towards the noble act of donating books and spreading knowledge. By doing this we get the old books more life, carry on emotions for many years by preserving books, develop culture of reading and sharing, increase literacy and vocabulary skills.

Teacher’s Day

Teachers' Day is celebrated every year on the 5th of September, which also marks the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was an Indian philosopher and the second President of India. Teachers Day is one such event to which students and teachers equally look forward. The Day is important for the students as it gives them a chance to understand the efforts put in by their teachers to ensure that they get a proper education. Similarly, teachers also look forward to the Teachers’ Day celebration as their efforts get recognised and honoured by students and other agencies as well. Teachers nourish and prepare students for their future as they are the real icon of knowledge and wisdom. They create awareness among the students and common people. They are the source of light in the world that has been darkened due to ignorance. Our teachers are the true pillars of our success. They help us garner knowledge, improve our skills, grow confidence as well as help us to choose the right path to success. But, despite playing such a crucial role in the lives of students and in nation-building, they rarely are shown the gratitude that they deserve. So, as a student, it is our duty to thank them at least once a year and Teachers’ Day gives us an ideal opportunity to do so!.

Krishna Janmashtami

Janmashtami is one of the India’s most popular festival celebrated across the country with great zest and zeal, to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna. Considered one of the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Krishna was born around 5,200 years ago in Mathura. The sole objective of Lord Krishna’s birth was to free the Earth from the evilness of demons. He played an important role in Mahabharata and propagated the theory of bhakti and good karma. The festival of Janmashtami also referred to as Krishna Janmashtami, Saatam Aatham, Gokulashtami, Ashtami Rohini or Srikrishna Jayanti marks the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful human incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Janmashtami is celebrated as the birthday of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu. According to the Hindu calendar, this festival is celebrated on the Ashtami of Krishna Paksh or the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the month of Bhadon. This day indicated the beginning of hope in the older times; hope, that the malicious rule of Kansa would soon end.  Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with full fervor as Mount Carmel English School hosted traditional festivities and kids came dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha. Students aged two to five were beautifully dressed up as Krishna and Radha.

Hindi Diwas

Hindi Diwas or National Hindi Day is celebrated every year on September 14th to mark the adaptation of Hindi as the official language by the Constituent Assembly on September 14th, 1949. The first Prime Minister of the country, Jawaharlal Nehru, decided to celebrate Hindi Diwas on September 14th.  Hindi is the fifth most spoken language among the total languages spoken in the world. Largely, the day is a celebration of luminaries in the field of Hindi literature.  Our heartiest tribute to the great writers like Kaka Kalelkar, Maithili Sharan Gupta, Hazari Prasad Dwivedi, Seth Govindadas made important contributions to make Hindi the official language. To showcase the importance of Hindi Diwas, it is celebrated across all the schools, colleges, office and organizations.  This year due to pandemic running across the globe, our school teachers encouraged students to write poems, essays in Hindi language.  Also, Google Meet was organized for all the school students and teachers together and an opportunity was given to share their creative poems, essays and information on Hindi Diwas.  Teachers were overwhelmed by the vigorous participation of the students.  We really appreciate parents’ and students’ co-operation to make this celebration successful.

Gandhi Jayanti is observed by the entire nation to commemorate the birth anniversary of the father of our nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Our school celebrated Bapu’s 152th birth anniversary virtually this year with zeal, enthusiasm and a patriotic feeling on 2nd October 2021. This is the 152th birth anniversary of the most prominent leader of our Independence struggle. As you all know that the purpose of this day is to honour this iconic leader of ours. The key message that Bapu taught us was that battles and wars can be won with non-violence, kindness and empathy." Non violence is the greatest force at the disposal of mankind "was the thought pondering message given by this great man. What do we need to learn from him? Truth and honesty, forgiveness, perseverence, mindfullness, simplicity. Children you need to imbibe all of these and only then can you walk this life of yours with ease. He is hence widely recognised as one of the 20th century's greatest political and spiritual leaders and was called 'Mahatma' meaning great soul. Do you all know who gave him the title 'Bapu'? It was none other than Subhash chandra Bose. Bapu was nominated for the Nobel prize 5 times but was not awarded one. He has left behind many valuable lessons as his legacy. He taught us that where there is love there is life. He said 'Be the change we wish to see in this world. I end with these few quotes of the Mahatma. –
'In a gentle way, you can shake the world.'
"I object to violence because when it appears to do good, the good is only temporary, the evil it does is permanent."

The programme commenced with Bapu’s favourite hymns, ‘Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram’ and ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’, soulful rendered by music teacher Mr Sanjeev Chaudhary. Kathan Sharma of PS Kokab dressed as Bapu spoke his memorable words of inspiration- “Be the change that you wish to see in the world”. The Mahatma rightly said, “Sanitation is more important than independence”. In that spirit, as we know the Swachch Bharat Abhiyan launched by the Government of India aims to address the problems of sanitation and waste management. Whenever we think of Bapu, two words come to our mind – truth and non-violence. Bapu was a staunch believer of these ideals and preached that honesty was the virtue of being truthful to self and society.

Kanakadasa Jayanthi Celebration at MCES

Karnataka celebrates “Kanakadasa Jayanthi” on November 22 every year to pay tribute to Shri Kanaka Dasa, who was the 15th century Saint and a social reformer. He is famous for his keertanas and upabhoga, compositions for Carnatic Music. He used simple Kannada language for his compositions. The programme started by invoking blessings of Lord Ganesh by a vandhanam. Our students participated in singing, speech (Kannada &English) and dressed up as Kanakadasa and sang Keerthanas. Finally, our Principal madam Mrs.Kasturi S Biradar gave an engaging talk that included some fascinating facts about Kanakadasa. She said the principles and preaching of Bhaktapur Kanakadasa need to be emulated by everyone and sang about Kanakadasa poet. Madam conducted quiz on Kanakadas Jayanthi.

Science Lab Experiments

Science is the study of facts. At the same time, science is also about discovering the world around us, of knowing things, and having new and wonderful idea. Science lab experiments promote the development of scientific thinking in students. Rather than making the kids memorize the facts, they are made to think and understand things and the world around them. Science lab experiments allow students to ask questions, probe for answers, conduct investigations, and collect data. In school science labs, children are viewed as active learners and not just passive recipients of knowledge. Science experiments play a very crucial role in the ongoing intellectual development of children. At school, we conduct science experiments every day in front of all the students. By doing this we can engage the students and also encourage them to think more scientifically.
